Have you ever wondered where the snowman came from, or have you ever built a snowman yourself?
The first snowman that was ever recorded was created in 1380 by historian Bob Eckstein.

“The white snow represents God’s forgiveness of our sins. The circular snowballs show the everlasting life God promises us. The carrot nose shows us that God has given us the Earth and all living things.”

These are the parts of the snowman that have significant meaning. There are a few times that the people of Kern River Valley are given the chance to go outside and make a snowman. Making a snowman is quite simple, and most people love to include their family and friends. Snowmen are a great way to bring families together and have a good night. It is also a tradition that people include in their winter holidays; when they see snow, they make a snowman!

Snowmen can be dressed and made in many different ways, although they generally have carrot noses and button eyes. Snowmen are a great way to show holiday cheer and come together as a family. Bob Eckstein made the first snowman in 1380, and here we are now, in 2021, where children and families all over the world make snowmen whenever snow falls to this day
