October Current Events (2020)
This month, schools are starting to re-open beginning with T-K, kindergarten, and first grade. The schools have placed a few restrictions on the children in order to keep them and their peers safe. These restrictions included staying home if they had any signs of illness, having them wear masks while on the bus and on campus, as well as having the child stay home if they or anyone in their household had been exposed to a positive case of Covid-19.
Halloween is coming up later this month, and on October 31st, Kernville First Baptist Church is having a socially distanced trunk or treat for the kids of the valley. They will be passing out candy from the cars but will remain 6 feet away at all times to remain socially distanced. It will be held in the Kernville First Baptist Church parking lot at 46 Valley View Drive, from 4:30-7:30pm. Parking will be available at the Kernville Chamber of Commerce and along Valley View Drive.
Presidential debates between candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump took place on September 29th and October 22nd, preceding the election next month.
