Senora Woodward’s Spanish 2 class displayed a wonderful example of traditional ingredients native to the Americas earlier this week. Students brought in dishes that contained traditional ingredients native to the Americas. The dishes were talked about and shared throughout the class. The students felt this was a wonderful way to share and experience what they are learning in an engaging way. One student said,”It was very fun, enjoyable, and nice to be able to try different kinds of food that my friends made. I think that hands-on projects like this should be done more often.” Some of the dishes included corn salsa, guacamole, chicken enchiladas, pineapple upside cake, as well as many others. Their diverse dishes added to the effect of learning and the layers upon which we got to see the traditional elements.
