The KV “Blue Zone” enjoyed cheering on the girls Varsity team during their playoff game vs. Washington Union.

The Broncs basketball teams had a great season. The Boys Varsity team was able to make it to the CIF central section playoffs. They had a heartbreaking loss in the first round, but no one thought they were going to make it to the playoffs. They exceeded expectations all year long. They finished 4th in the league  with a .500% win rate. The Varsity Lady Broncs were one of the most dominating HDL teams this year. They were second in the HDL and won a tournament at the beginning of the year. They suffered a devastating loss to Washington Union in the first round of the CIF central section division 5 playoffs after barely beating them earlier in the year. The girls team was able to overcome a lot of adversity along with the boys team and never let anything stop them. They continued to work hard and have fantastic seasons.

Moving off the courts to the field, baseball, softball, and track season is in full swing. The track team competed in the first meet of the year on March 3rd at Bakersfield College, taking home several medals. Sophomore Aspen Hacker took second place in the steeplechase race, which is an intense event that is modeled after horse racing. The Varsity Baseball team played Windward on March 4th and lost 1–9, but fared better than expected. Although the softball teams have not yet played, both teams are full of talented and excited girls, ready for an eventful season! The JV softball team is coached by Coach Talbert, and we wish her the best as she begins her first season as a KV softball coach.
