The recent snow storms across California have affected all of our daily lives. Whether it be going to the grocery store or going to school, the unsafe driving conditions were a major risk. Road conditions were unsafe due to freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall; Lake Isabella saw record breaking snowfall February 22nd—25th. In Lake Isabella, there were two inches of snow, and the roads were iced over.

Despite the icy conditions, school was not canceled. The three two-hour-delays did help the roads clear up a little bit, but many students in Kernville, Southlake, and the Havilah area were not able to make it to school. These students make up a large portion of the population at KVHS. The absence of these students was noticed, and the workload of students able to attend was almost nothing, making it harder to believe that coming to school in these conditions was necessary.
